collection mission: 2003, July 10-30

Ali Ismail at work

A natural mineral spring along the road. Have a bath or drink it...It was very deep and the water very cold...

Cow herd (choban) was very surprised seeing so many serious people with strange equipment looking for "grass which  even my cows don't eat"

The gorge of Geghard river in Garni. Amazing mountains, aren't they?
left to right: Natalya Rukhkyan & Nadezhda Chikida

We found them clipping to Vayotsar mountain, which is actually a sleeping volcano.

And how they look from far distance

The north of Armenia. Very abandoned... Still suffering from earthquake of 1988. Such a silent,  lonely lake...Silent lonely land which enveloped thousands...

This wonderful device was made out centuries ago but still in use!

Tired but happy we're going home
