Akparov Zeynal Iba was born in September 28 1952 in a family of a worker in the Privolni village of Jalilabad Province of Azerbaijan. In 1971 he finished secondary school there. In 1978 he graduated from the Ganja Agricultural Institute of Azerbaijan with honors degree. He completed full-time postgraduate course on “Plant Physiology” in Azerbaijan Scientific-Research Agricultural Institute in 1981. In 1987 he defended the thesis for Ph.D. degree at Physiology and Biochemistry Institute of the Moldova Academy of Sciences on the “Photosynthesis operation providing the preparation of high and qualitative product” subject.
In 1971 he started to his working activities as a Worker; in 1978 - a Junior Scientific Worker of Azerbaijan Scientific-Research Vegetable-Growing Institute; in the period of 1981 to 1987 - a Junior Scientific Worker of Azerbaijan SR Agricultural Institute; in 1987-a Senior Scientific Worker and in 1990-Director of a Laboratory; in 1993 he was appointed a Deputy-Director on Scientific Affairs of the Agricultural Institute; in 2000 he became a Consultant of the Agency for Assistance in Private Sector Development of Agriculture, the Crediting and Development of the Agriculture Project of the World Bank and Executive Secretary of Grants Programme with Competition.
In November 2002 Dr. Z.Akparov was elected as a Director of the Genetic Resources Institute of the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences.
In 1996, for the 1st time, he participated in the working out process of National Programme on Plant Genetic Resources and Country Report; as well he is representing the Country as a National Coordinator on Plant Genetic Resources in different international arrangements up to now.
In 1997 he completed the Course on the Evolution of Darwinism on the Security of Perennial Herbs in Iran and got International Certificates.
Mr. Zeynal Akparov is an author of about 70 scientific and massive works, as well 2 monographs.
