The Fifth Program Steering Committee Meeting of the CGIAR Collaborative Program for Sustainable Agricultural Development in CAC

National Coordinators from all eight countries and representatives from ICARDA and IPGRI have attended . The meeting was inaugurated by Prof., Dr. Adel El-Beltagy, Director General of ICARDA. Acad. Gogotur Agladze (Georgia) was elected as Chairman of the CATCN/PGR Steering Committee and Acad. Jamin Akimaliev (Kyrgyzstan) as Deputy Chairman

Meeting of the Central Asia and Transcaucasus Network on Plant Genetic Resources (CATCN-PGR)

In total 23 from CAC countries have attended involved in two working groups: on cereal and medical plants. Representatives of ICARDA and IPGRI have participating as well. They reviewed PGR activities for the period 1999-2002 and developed work-plan for 2002-2004
