The majority of the Plant Genetic Resource work  in the CAC region that has been funded on a by-project basis.  Scientists at GRU/ ICARDA, working in collaboration with scientists, have written and submitted project proposals to various funding bodies in the past to secure the necessary funding to undertake the work they have done in the region.  To date the Australian funding body, the Australian Center for International Agricultural Research (AICAR) has been the most generous and has funded 6 years of practical PGR projects that are reported elsewhere in this site.

Despite excellent progress there is still a lot of work to be done in the CAC region. ICARDAs GRU scientists continue to write and submit project proposals to funding bodies.  The areas where funding opportunities exist to support PGR conservation and utilization work in CAC region can be viewed in the Funding Opportunities page of this site.
