Tajikistan’s territory is typically divided into peculiar geobotanical regions.
Each region has its own diversity of species, habitats, and distribution of plant communities according to vertical zonation.

Juniperus turkestanica, Juniperus seravschanica). Some fragments of vegetation are presented with honeysuckle (Lonicera microphylla), rose (Rosa beggeriana), geranium and sedge (Geranium saxatile, Carex turkestanica)

5. 2800-3400 m Forb-grass gramineous steppes
Festuca valesiaca in combination with prickly-herb phryganoids (Onobrychis echidna, Cousinia pannosa.

6. 3400-4000 m. Cryophytic meadows

Stipa turkestanica), prickly-herb phryganoids (Onobrychis echidna, Cousinia franchetii) and juniper groves (Juniperus turkestanica).

4. 3400-4000 m. Prickly-scrub
Phryganoids and cryophytic pulvinates (Oxytropis savellanica)

Gissar-Darvaz Region (IV)

1. 700-1700 m. Ephemeral low-herb and tall-herb savannoids
Elytrigia trichophora, Hordeum bulbosum, in combination with xerophytic light forests and bushes (Celtis caucasica, Pistacia vera, Amygdalus bucharica). Cereal plantations are widely distributed here

2. 1200-2800 m. Arboreal-shrub vegetation

Festuca sulcata, Cousinia stephanophora and Cousinia fedtschenkoana in combination with tall-herb and grass-rich tall herb savannoids (Prangos pabularia). Within the mountain river valleys same birch (Betula turkestanica) and poplar (Populus tadshicistanica) forests are widely spread

4. 3400-3800 m. Cryophytic meadows
