Plant Genetic Resources Documentation is one of the most important directions in a work with plant genepool and it includes registration, movement, preservation and use of genetic sources. This direction is developed abroad and it is a basis for functioning of plant genepools, taking the part of the most important element- formation of genetic diversity of national collections.

Principles of VIR (Russia) and ICARDA (Syria) Database are widely used. A work in the direction of documentation is carried out with the help of specialists from Genetic Resources Unit of ICARDA.
